Coming Home

The last couple days in Qatar were really exciting. My countdown came closer to flying home and it was time to do things the last time and to start packing my luggage. I had to say goodbye to friends, who will be dearly missed, as well as lovely teachers, who always were helpful and had an open ear for everything.
On the second last day, all of us Grand tour students went out for dinner with our crew to enjoy a last meal together. We went to Afghan brothers and had dinner on the floor, which was really cool and intimate. This was the last time I had amazing Middle- Eastern food. During my time in Qatar, I got to taste different cuisines which were all amazing. I think I barely tasted anything which I did not like, thats why I will miss the good food for real,especially the lamb meat which I got to love only over there <3

The crew

The day of departure came and I had to pack my luggage, which was quite a struggle to fit everything in my bags. I literally had to sit in and on my luggage to zip it up :D but I finally managed after packing in and out like 5 times :D Wednesday at midnight, I drove to the airport with two of my friends to catch my flight at 3:40 am on Thursday morning. My first flight was to Dubai and from there, to Amsterdam. 

I reached Amsterdam at 12:30 pm on Thursday and the flight was pretty nice, since there were no major cancellations, my luggage made the way to Amsterdam as well and the weather was also on my side. Usually, something goes wrong on my return flight so thats why I point it out one more time. In the arrival hall was my family, my friend lea, and the family of Theo, who I did not expect to show up.

I felt really blessed to have so many people waiting for me to arrive safe and sound in Amsterdam. It was just perfect to see them all smiling when I managed to pass through the arrival hall door.

After a long trip home and sleeping the first night in my own bed with tons of pillows, I was really happy to be back home. I enjoyed the last five months in Qatar alot. I have seen so many things, met amazing people and was blessed with their huge hospitality :) I will always think back to that time and will definitely come back in a couple of years to see how Doha has developed and to catch up with everyone.

In a couple of days, I will be reunited with my lovely boyfriend, who I cannot wait to see again after 5 months being apart from. Additionally, in 2 weeks my internship will start and I am pretty excited for this new chapter in my life. Lets start into my last year of my IBMS study.... I am definitely ready for it :)
