The Villagio Mall

Life in Qatar is really different from life in the Netherlands or Germany. During the frist couple days here we had more than 42°C with humidity as well. It feels like you open the ofen when you bake a cake or pizza, that comparison describes the weather conditions here pretty well. Basically, you walk from AC to AC just to survive the heat. Luckily every shop, mall or room has an AC so life is very good here. I even have one in my room, which runs 24/7 and it is my life saver :D *knock knock on wood* that I did not get sick yet from any AC here :)
During the day, after or before school we mostly are inside or hang out at the pool in our compound neighborhood. The water from the pool has just the right temperature to jump right into it without being cold or to warm, so perfectly fine!

Besides hanging out at the pool, we usually go to the malls around here in Doha. One of the is called Villagio!

This mall is just extravangant. I have never seen any like this before in my entire life! The people in in Qatar just have the weirdest ideas, but also coolest ideas I have ever heard about. They made the ceiling look like a sky with clouds, so you feel like the mall is open and you can see the blue sky.

Furthermore, the mall has an own river, which flows through the whole mall. On the river are gondolas, where passengers can have a tour through the mall or just enjoy the view from the boat.

 The mall has alot of shops and restaurants like every other mall, but the wholeatmosphere is so terrific and breath taking that I really like to go there. This is why I went to Qatar to see those crazy freaky places, we will not have seen at home.

On top of that, the Qataris also included some ice-skating rinks in some of the malls. I mean you have over 40°C outside why not make an ice rink inside right? :D The answer is: because they can!!!!

Next to the ice rink there is also an amusement park in the mall with roller coasters and rides for everyone.  So basically, you have eveything in the mall you need: a boat ride, an ice rink, rides or for the boring ones just stores to go shopping in :D
